The E&I Technology Team recently hosted an inspiring evening of conversation, camaraderie, and networking for our members and business partner sponsors: Carahsoft, Hilco Streambank, and Mythics for Oracle. The event was held on Tuesday, October 25th, the first night of EDUCAUSE 2022 in Denver, CO.
The location was spectacular. Rightfully named Peaks Lounge on the 27th floor of the Hyatt Regency Denver, the room has two walls of windows overlooking the Mile High City, the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and the amazing architecture of the city and neighboring areas. We couldn’t help but be in awe of our picturesque surroundings.
The two-hour event was filled with decorative and delicious hors d’oeuvres, business partner giveaways, and complimentary drinks of all kinds. Attendees from E&I, our business partner sponsors, and members enjoyed the scenic views and amenities, and engaged in conversations about EDUCAUSE and technology issues that are critical for member institutions today.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems was a hot topic for the evening. Attendees discussed the roadmap of moving to the cloud with members’ ERP systems, including managing it in-house and companies that can help. Financials, Human Resources, Payroll, and Student Information Systems (SIS) were strategized in detail. Attendees outlined the benefits of moving to a cloud-hosted environment versus a native cloud environment. Small, mid-sized, and large institutions are all contemplating these options with us.
All parties enjoyed the conversations, and everyone left the event with smiles on their faces—seeming to want more time together at this fabulous location if it was possible. We are very excited about the results of this heavenly experience and look forward to hosting a similar event at EDUCAUSE 2023 in Chicago, IL!
